Erika Portillo is an attorney licensed to practice in the State of California, in the U.S. District Court and the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals Court for the Northern District of California and in Mexico. While in Mexico she practiced criminal law as a prosecutor in the State of Morelos. After her stint as a prosecutor, Erika practiced civil law. Erika currently focuses her practice on immigration law, civil law and on matters related to Mexican Law.

Erika earned her Master of Laws in United States Legal Studies from Golden Gate University School of Law, and her Juris Doctor from La Universidad Autonama del Estado the Morelos in Mexico.  She is currently a board member of the Hispanic Chamber of Commerce of Contra Costa County, a board member of the Editorial Board of the Contra Costa Lawyer, a board member of the Hispanic Cancer Association, a member of the Robert G. McGrath American Inns of Court, a member of the Contra Costa County Bar Association a member of the Contra Costa County Bar Association Women’s Section a member of the One Hundred Club and a member of the Contra Costa County Sheriff’s Posse.  

Erika was born and raised in Cuernavaca, Morelos, Mexico.  She is proficient in English and Spanish.
